Howard County Fair
The Howard County Fair has been a rite of summer for locals since 1946. This year, the fairgrounds will be alive with rides, food, entertainment and 4-H exhibits from Aug. 3 to 10. Scheduled entertainment includes the Shazam Magic Show, the all-volunteer Baltimore's Marching Ravens on Aug. 4 at 12:30 p.m., and country music star Richie Fields on Aug. 9 at 7:30 and 9 p.m. As always, there will be midway rides, the Miss Howard County Farm Bureau Contest, a pie-eating contest, a show of antique automobiles, an antique tractor pull, a parade of floats, an amateur variety show and many other old-fashioned pleasures.
