Wilde Lake girls basketball defeats Marriotts Ridge for second league win

Forward Lindsay Williams scored a game- and season-high 16 points to lead Wilde Lake in a 52-40 win over Marriotts Ridge on Wednesday evening.

Brynn Drury added 11 points, while Kourtney Harrison had eight and Rachel Lazris contributed seven.

The Wildecats improved to 2-10 in the county and 3-11 overall.

Zoe Stukenberg paced the Mustangs (3-9, 3-10) with 14 points and Marissa Davey finished with nine.

“The girls played really well together tonight and executed technical aspects of the game we have been working on at practice,” Wildecats coach Caitlin Williams said. “They made adjustments as needed both offensively and defensively. I was proud of the way they played with heart and intensity the entire game.

“Marriott's Ridge is a good team. They beat us at the beginning of the season, and the girls were eager to have the opportunity to play them again. Both teams put up a good fight on both ends of the court. There was some good basketball played tonight.”

Both teams return to the court on Friday night at 7 p.m. Wilde Lake hosts Hammond, while Marriotts Ridge travels to River Hill.
