( Photo by Sarah Pastrana / December 11, 2012 ) The Howard County Unsweetened Campaign kicked off on Dec. 11 at Burleigh Manor Middle School when a truck carrying 9.6 tons of sand dumped its contents into the school's parking lot. The sand represented the amount of sugar that the school's students would consume if each drank one 12-ounce soda a day for a year. |
