Hekimian stands for 'openness and transparency' [Letter]

I have lived in Oakland Mills for 35 years. I endorse Alex Hekimian for Columbia Council. Please vote for him on Saturday April 20 at the Other Barn. Alex is the best public servant I know in Columbia. He stands for openness and transparency. Alex worked to ensure that there is a cap on the HOA tax and that the available resources are spent wisely. Last summer the CA stopped mowing certain open spaces. Paths that children use to walk to school were being neglected and the threat of Lyme disease was increased due to high grass. Alex worked to restore the service. The threat of losing this service once again is upon us. Three pools received upgrades due to in part to Alex's advocacy.

Alex consistently votes to protect Columbia's environment and open spaces. He spoke up as a voice of reason to oppose plans for development in Symphony Woods that will result in the destruction of many trees. Open spaces are integral to Columbia and we must ensure that this original vision for the community is protected. His wisdom is much needed at this time. Please vote for him this week.
