A Howard County woman is in critical condition after a three-vehicle crash Monday evening on Route 100 in Ellicott City.

Anita Kudagunti, 31, of the 3200 block of Normandy Woods Drive in Ellicott City, remained hospitalized at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, a hospital spokeswoman said Tuesday afternoon.

Kudagunti was a passenger in one of the vehicles that collided at about 7:06 p.m. on Nov. 21 on Route 100, according to the Howard County Police Department.

Police said a Toyota Camry was exiting from a Long Gate Parkway ramp onto eastbound Route 100 when the driver lost control. The car spun out as it entered the highway and was struck on the passenger side by an Infinity FX35.

The Infinity was then hit by a Toyota Corolla, which was also eastbound on Route 100, police said.

Kudagunti was a passenger in the Camry. Her husband, Mallikarjuna Kudagunti, was driving the vehicle. He, their 3-year-old daughter and 6-year-old son were treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said. Both children were in rear child safety seats.

Police said that speeding and the wet road led to Mallikarjuna Kudagunti losing control of the Camry.

The driver of the Infiniti, Garnett Lancaster Jr., 32, of the 8000 block of Helonias Court in Pasadena, was taken to Howard County General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The driver of the Corolla, Ambar Saeed, 27, of the 7900 block of Bright Meadow Court in Ellicott City, was not injured, police said.
