College students from Laurel make dean's list

Alexander Pendleton, of Laurel, was named to the honor roll for the fall semester at the University of Kansas, in Lawrence. A senior in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, he is the son of Michael and Vibeke Pendleton, of Laurel.

Christine Baumgarten and Roberta Goldenpenny, both residents of Laurel, were named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Notre Dame of Maryland University, in Baltimore.

Mital Patel, of Laurel, was named to the dean's list for the fall semester at University of the Science, in Philadelphia, Pa. She is a pharmacology and toxicology student.

Lee Friedman and Lauren Kauffman, both of Laurel, were named to dean's list for the fall semester at Gettysburg College, in Pennsylvania.

Katherine Murphy, of Laurel, was named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Boston University, in Massachusetts.

Nicholas Donohue and Kelly Holt, both of Laurel, were named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Villanova University, in Pennsylvania. Nicholas is studying finance in the School of Business and Kelly is studying Spanish Studies in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Yongmu "Michelle" Huang, of Laurel, was named to the dean's list for the fall semester at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore School of Pharmacy. The 2007 Laurel High School class valedictorian is a graduate of the honors program at the University of Maryland, College Park.

Laurel resident Huyen Vu was inducted into the Gamma Theta chapter of the Gamma Sigma Epsilon Chemistry Honor Society at Notre Dame of Maryland University, in Baltimore.

Dani Allen, of Laurel, is one of six female senior art students, whose works are showcased at the annual Student Honors Exhibition at McDaniel College. Titled "smARTies," this exhibition runs March 26 through April 5 in Rice Gallery, Peterson Hall, at 2 College Hill, in Westminster. An opening reception will be held March 26, from 7 to 9 p.m.
