The following students from Laurel graduated from Frostburg State University: Gabrieline Amankwaa, Bachelor of Fine Arts in art and design; Christopher Lanier, Bachelor of Science in business administration; Michael Fulson-Woytek, Bachelor of Science in biology; and Robert Kiel, Bachelor of Science in law and society.

The following Laurel students were named to the dean's list for the spring semester at Frostburg State University: Abena Abu, Ruth LaCourse, Gabrieline Amankwaa, Amy Carr and Meische Cox, all with a 4.0 grade point average; and Courtney Branch, Caitlin Lovend, Adesumbo Odunlami; Michael Fulson-Woytek and Robert Kiel.

Matthew Donohue, of Laurel, was named to the dean's list for the spring semester at Widener University School of Law inHarrisburg, Pa.

Emily Parker, of Laurel, graduated from Tufts University, in Medford, Mass., with a Bachelor of Arts in Middle Eastern studies, summa cum laude, and Arabic.

Jennifer Garshell, of West Laurel, graduated from Towson University with a Bachelor's in elementary education, with a cumulative grade point average of 3.5. She is a 2007 graduate of Laurel High School.

The following Laurel students graduated from Marymount University, in Arlington, Va.: Wisdom Henyo, Master of Science in health care management; Salma Jordan, Bachelor of Arts in fashion design; Janet Kamendi, Master of Science in Nursing, family nurse practitioner; Violet Kamendi, Master of Science in Nursing, family nurse practitioner; Rowena Milburn, Master of Science in Nursing, nursing education; Valerie Sinady, Bachelor of Science in nursing magna cum laude (second degree); and Caitlin O'Brien, Master of Arts in forensic psychology.

Shayna Wise, of Laurel, a student at the College of Notre Dame of Maryland, in Baltimore, was inducted into Kappa Gamma Pi, the national Catholic college honor society; Pi Sigma Alpha, the political science honor society; and Phi Sigma Iota, the international foreign language honor society; and was recognized as a Morrissy Honors Scholar.

The following Laurel students were named to the dean's list for the spring semester at Mount St. Mary's University in Emmitsburg: senior Kevin Abdo; juniors Laura Wellford, Nancy Abu-Bonsrah and Ryan Brophy; and sophomore Evan Oliver.

Kevin Landrigan, of Laurel, graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University's Metropolitan Campus, in Teaneck, N.J.
