Steve Poynot, Senior Vice President and Team Leader for Howard Bank, has been selected for the Next Leaders in Banking inaugural roster by the Maryland Bankers Association.
Poynot will be honored at the Next Leaders in Banking Awards Breakfast on Oct. 6. The 16 honorees were selected for "demonstrating that they are rising stars in the profession, and whose work helps to put all bankers in a good light."
Lisa Kawata, of Laurel, has joined The Arc of Howard County as Volunteer Coordinator in the Resource Development department. A native of Howard County, Kawata has 22 years experience as a community journalist with Patuxent Publishing Co. and the Baltimore Sun.
A recent graduate of the Leadership Premiere program of Leadership Howard County, Kawata is a founding member of the Southeast Horizon Council and has served as a volunteer with the Howard County Library and local PTA boards.
Other additions to the Resource Development department include Jennifer Caine, Events and Communication Coordinator, and Jessica Dalrymple, Fiscal Development Associate. Caine, of Timonium, has worked in broadcasting and is a member of The Immaculate Conception School Board. Dalrymple, of Columbia, is an assistant track coach with Special Olympics, where she has volunteered for 10 year.
Merissa Bogdanor (Eide), former lacrosse defender at Vanderbilt University and graduate of Mt. Hebron High School, has been named Women's Ministry Director for The Fellowship of Christian Athletes Lacrosse Ministry.
Bob Guerin, of Perry Hall, will assume the role of Vice President of Property Management at American Community Management Inc., of Columbia.
He has 35 years of experience in residential and multifamily property management, including the position of Property Manager for Monumental Properties and District Manager and Assistant Vice President for Town and Country Management.
Brian D. Voss, the University of Maryland's Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer, has been elected to the EDUCAUSE Board of Directors by the association's membership. EDUCAUSE is a nonprofit association and a community of IT leaders and professionals committed to advancing higher education by promoting the intelligent use of information technology.
Voss will serve a four-year term on the Board of Directors beginning in October 2011. As a board member, Voss' responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, helping with organizational governance and the development of EDUCAUSE's strategic direction.
Erin Phelps has been named Sales Manager at WEICHERT, REALTORS ¿ New Colony, in Columbia
Phelps brings more than six years of sales experience, as well as a background in administrative management and customer service, to the new position.
Bryan LePage has been promoted to Professional's Banking Relationship Manager for The Columbia Bank.
In his new role, LePage will focus on providing banking services specifically designed to meet the unique needs of the community's physicians, attorneys and other professionals. Prior to his promotion, LePage served the Branch Manager of the bank's Gateway Plaza Office, in Columbia.
Debra Drapas and Walt Dowling have been hired as directors of sales at Autani Corporation, of Columbia.
