Hundreds of Batman fans were disappointed early Friday morning when the premiere of"The Dark Knight Rises"at the AMC Columbia 14 was canceled because of technical difficulties, according to employees of the theater.
Movie-goers were getting anxious at 12:01 a.m., the time when the movie was scheduled to start on two screens. An announcement was made around 12:20 a.m. that the showings would be delayed until 1:30 a.m.
"I don't care, it's Batman," said Adam Moret, of Eldersburg, after hearing the announcement.
Will Johnson, of Silver Spring , wasn't happy about the delay.
"I'm not feeling this at all," he said, hoping that "maybe the movie will make up for it."
At 12:40 a.m., the theater announced that due to technical difficulties, none of the 10 scheduled showings would take place.
"I'm mad," said Caitlin O'Hare, of West Friendship. "It doesn't seem very well planned out."
On Friday morning, Ken Demski, senior manager of the theater, said: "We're back under normal operations."
Demski said he was "unclear" as to why the technical difficulties had occurred.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
