Laurel Police are continuing to investigate a robbery that sent a 65-year-old Laurel man to the hospital with injuries.
According to Laurel Police, the man was walking from his apartment in the 300 block of Thomas Drive Nov. 18, when he was approached by two males, who hit him several times with their fists and took money from his pocket.
Police said the man was taken to an area hospital in stable condition, and had five broken ribs and internal bleeding.
The incident occurred at dusk near a fence that leads to Fourth Street. City spokesman James Collins said that Laurel Police have increased patrols in the area.
