A Russett home was robbed Tuesday after the resident was approached outside by a man with a gun, Anne Arundel County Police said.
Police said the Russett resident was reaching into his car outside his home around 10:40 p.m. in the 3500 block of Marcey Creek Road, when a maroon Honda Civic stopped in the road. He told police that a man with a gun got out of the car and approached him, asking for money. When the victim said he didn't have money, the man who approached him then rummaged through the victim's car and then went inside the victim's home, stealing money. He then got back into the Honda Civic and the car drove away.
Police located the Honda Civic on Russett Green East near Route 198, and stopped the car in the parking lot of Burger King. A passenger riding in the car got out and fled, police said, but the driver was detained. Police said they found evidence inside the car that was identified as being stolen from the victim's home.
Christopher Morris Hillian, 20, of Lanham, was charged with armed robbery, robbery and related charges. Police are attempting to locate and identify the passenger in the car.
