Howard County Police are asking for the public's help in indentifying a suspect in the armed robbery earlier this month at a motel on Route 1 in Jessup.

Police released a video and announced that a reward of up to $500 is being offered for information leading to an arrest.

Police said that a man walked into the main entrance of the Comfort Inn, in the 8800 block of Route 1, at around 3 p.m. on Dec. 14 and approached the desk. The man handed the clerk a bag, demaned money, then lifted his shirt to imply he had a gun, according to police.

The clerk complied to the man's demands and man fled on foot.

The suspect was described as a tall male of average build with a goatee of a thin chin-strap beard. He was wearing a winter-style hat with tassels, black sunglasses, a gray hooded sweatshirt with dark colored stripes down the arms (possibly Adidas brand), khaki cargo pants, black gloves and brown shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to call 410-313-7867. Callers may remain anonymous.
