Three Howard County teenagers have been arrested in upstate New York after allegedly attempting to bring back to Maryland a 16-year-old girl one of the men had met online, according to the Associated Press and local news reports.

Djakarta J. Hall, 18, of Columbia, Elliot M. Johnson, 18, of Columbia, and Travis M. Kuhne, 18, of Elkridge, are each facing one count of endangering the welfare of a child, according to MPNnow.com, which covers news in the Rochester area.

Kuhne also is facing one count of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Police said he had a switchblade knife, the website reported.

Police said the teens picked the girl up Monday morning from her high school before classes began. An Amber Alert was issued at 8:30 a.m., and state troopers found the vehicle, with the girl inside, about 90 minutes later.
