A Baltimore County man has been indicted on attempted murder charges by a Howard County grand jury in connection with a January non-fatal shooting outside of a convenience store in Columbia.
Cedric Lamont Scott, 38, of the 5300 block of Fernot Drive in Gwynn Oak, is facing first- and second- degree attempted murder, first-degree assault, armed robbery, and other charges in connection with the shooting of Marcus Lee, 20, of Columbia, outside of Sam's Mart in Oakland Mills on Jan. 11.
Scott is the third person to be indicted in the case.
Eric Brandon Miller, 25, of the 1300 block of Whitman Drive in Glen Burnie, and Zehra Senel Oztas, 24, of the 46600 block of Yorktown Road in Lexington Park, were indicted by the grand jury on first-degree assault and armed robbery charges in February.
Police said they responded to Sam's Mart, located in the 5800 block of Stevens Forest Road, around 8:30 p.m. to a report of a shooting.
Police said Lee was selling a large quantity of marijuana to Miller and an accomplice when the accomplice shot Lee once. Police said Lee ran into the convenience store for help while Miller and the accomplice drove off.
Lee was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore and was released four days later.
No bond has been set for Scott, according to online court records.
