Laurel residents are invited to join members of the Laurel Police Department on Tuesday, Aug. 7 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Granville Gude Park for the 29th annual National Night Out.

National Night Out is held nationwide by police organizations to inform the public about drug prevention initiatives, neighborhood watch groups and other community police programs.

At the event, members of the Laurel Police and Laurel fire and rescue squads will demonstrate tactics, such as working with suspected bombs. The evening will also have activities for children.
