What: Rep Stage presents a staged reading of the play "The Guy," about a New York fire captain who asks a writer to help put together eulogies for the men he has lost in the Sept. 11 attacks.

What: Howard County's 10th anniversary remembrance ceremony
When: 8:30-9 a.m.
Where: Centennial Park,Ellicott City
Details: County Executive Ken Ulman will unveil a steel beam weighing 96 pounds from the World Trade Center, which will tour the county. The event, which is prior to the start of the annual Police Pace 5K, will also feature a procession to the "Garden of Hope," where Ulman will lay the traditional laurel wreath and moment of silence for the four Howard residents who lost their lives during the terrorist attacks. What: Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services' 10th anniversary remembrance ceremony
When: 9:30-10:30 a.m.
Where: James N. Robey Public Safety Training Center, 2200 Scott Wheeler Drive, Marriottsville
Details: A pear tree similar to that found in the World Trade Center rubble will be planted, and a plaque dedicated, in memory of those lost Sept. 11, 2001. Firefighters and paramedics will observe a moment of silence. The ceremony will end with the names read of Marylanders who died while serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.
