Howard County newsmakers: Local business leaders on the move

Howard Bank executives Mary Ann Scully, president and CEO; Christopher Marasco, senior vice president; Michael T. Cavey, senior vice president; Erick M. Chick, vice president and relationship manager; Thomas Drake, vice president and relationship manager; and Peter Stephan, vice president were named among Baltimore's Best of Banking by SmartCEO magazine.

Kevin Kelehan, a partner with Carney, Kelehan, Bresler, Bennett and Scherr LLP, a general-practice law firm headquartered in Columbia, will receive the Trustees' Award for Outstanding Service to Howard Community College. Kelehan co-chairs the Howard Community College Educational Foundation Campaign Council, which raises money to help students achieve their educational goals.

"His leadership with Howard Community College's Capital Campaign will benefit our students for years to come," said Howard Community College President Kathleen Hetherington of Kelehan's contributions to the school.

Howard County General Hospital has appointed Susan Case its director of marketing and communications and Sandy Dawson its director of health information management.

Case most recently served as senior marketing manager at Johns Hopkins Medicine. Prior to that, she was the communications and marketing manager at the American Urological Association. She received her Bachelor of Science in journalism-advertising from the University of Maryland.

Prior to being named its director, Dawson served as manager of the HIM department for four years. Before that, she worked at Sinai Hospital, in Baltimore; and Maryland General Hospital, in Baltimore, as well as hospitals in Pennsylvania. Dawson received her bachelor's degree in 1989 from York College of Pennsylvania.
