The St. James United Methodist Church annual yard sale, bake sale, plant sale Spring Fling is set for Saturday, May 11, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Floral hanging baskets, bedding and vegetable plants, crafts, and flea market finds will be available for purchase.
Hot breakfast and lunch are sold by the members of the youth group, whose aim is to earn funds for the annual Camp Hope housing rehabilitation effort that the group participates in each summer.

Bette Hoover has announced a new session of Community Yoga for a Better World. This all-level yoga class includes gentle poses, meditation and reflection. The six-week session was to begin May 6, but it offers drop-in participation and catch-up as well.

A Thursday, May 9, 7 p.m., performance for families culminates all the hard work of our local elementary stage stars. Co-directors Avery Stanert and Elsa Fawcett have brought out the best in the student actors, who include Emma Morath, Cole Felch, Claire Hinds, Ellie Johnson, Jacob Wise; and dozens of other talented actors, singers, dancers, technical crew members and musicians.
