The circus is coming to town. Really. Mark your calendar for April 10-14 when the big top of the Fun Circus goes up for five days at the Howard County Fairgrounds in West Friendship.
Show times are April 10, 11 and 12 at 4:30 and 7:30 p.m.; April 13 at 1:30, 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. and April 14 at 1, 3:30 and 6 p.m.

Congratulations to long time art educator Shawn Costello, who was recently named Outstanding Arts Educator by the Howard County Arts Council.
Costello, a resident of West Friendship, who is currently the art teacher at Lisbon Elementary, was for some years the art teacher at West Friendship Elementary.
A top notch award for an educator who is simply the best.
That's a bingo. The Knights of Columbus at St. Louis Catholic Church in Clarksville announce the long anticipated Longaberger Basket Bingo night on April 26. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and games begin at 7 p.m. St. Louis is at 12500 Route 108.

Got a home improvement project slated for the spring "to do" list? The annual Suburban Maryland Spring Home and Landscape Show comes to the Howard County Fairgrounds in West Friendship on April 5, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.; April 6, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and April 7, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Come one come all. Those are the words of West Friendship Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary member Sandi Hawkins, who relishes preparing for the annual fire department yard sale.
This year, the event is set for April 27, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Station 3, just off of Route 32 on Route 99 in West Friendship. Vendors are welcome. If you would like to reserve a sale space, register at http://www.wfvfd.org.
