Lisbon/Woodbine: Ladies Auxiliary brings back Quarter Mania to St. Michael's Catholic Church

The Ladies Auxiliary of St. Michael's Catholic Church will hold its Quarter Mania fundraiser Oct. 14. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the games start at 7 p.m. The cost is $5 for reserved advance tickets with two game paddles and $8 at the door with one game paddle. Extra paddles are $2 each. Refreshments will also be available to purchase.

Vendors will include Lia Sophia Jewelry, Longaberger, Handyman Tools, Pampered Chef, Candy Bouquet, Tupperware, Avon, Tealightful Treasures, Tastefully Simple, Judy's Creations and Catherine Crafts.

Seventy to 80 prizes will be given away with 40 paid admissions. Prizes given away will be adjusted if less than 40 admissions. To reserve your tickets or for more information, call 240-674-1961 or 410-549-2649.

Just a reminder that the Lisbon United Methodist Church will be holding its fall ham and oyster dinner Oct. 15. This is always a wonderful family-style meal with delicious ham, sides, and hand-pattied fried oysters. The church is on Route 144, right in the heart of Lisbon. The Columbia Pro Cantare will begin its 35th anniversary with a celebration of Howard County history. The Pro Cantare will perform at the Christ Episcopal Church in celebrating 200 years of the Old Brick church Oct. 15 at 8 p.m. The church is at 6800 Oakland Mills Road, in Columbia. Tickets are $25. St. Michael's Catholic Church is sponsoring a "Soles 4 Souls" drive to collect gently used shoes during the month of October. The goal is to collect 50,000 pairs of shoes for people in need. There will be a box for the shoes located at the entrance to the church.
