North Laurel/Savage: Carroll Baldwin Hall invites all to a birthday open house

Happy Birthday to the Carroll Baldwin Hall! To celebrate 90 years, the board of directors is hosting an open house on Nov. 10 starting at 3 p.m.

Kiddie Garden Learning Center has served our Jessup community for 16 years. The goal is to help children develop to their highest potential. The center has been selected to participate in the Maryland Breakthrough Center Early Childhood Initiative Program sponsored by the Maryland Department of Education.

This program's goal is to ensure all children enter kindergarten with the skills necessary to be successful. The center is under new leadership. Welcome their new owner, Farrukh Farshori.

Atholton High School will be presenting "Dream Girl" on Nov. 1 through 4. Show times are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. What a great way to see a play at a reasonable price. Tickets are $12 at the door, but in advance online for just $10 at http://www.atholtondrama.org.

Hammond Middle School Eighth graders will do research for the Student Space Flight Experiments Program that is sponsored by the National Center for Earth and Space Science Education. The experiments will focus on the effects of microgravity.

The top proposals will compete against two other schools in the county. The winning project will travel on the International Space Station.

Congratulations to Hammond Middle School Band members Eva Sauer and Audrey Lin, who were chosen to be members of the 2012 Howard County G/T Band. Kaylee White was chosen to be an alternate.

I want to correct something from my column on the Eagle Scouts. Evan Rittenhouse, who just received his Eagle Scout award, is a senior at Atholton High School, not Reservoir. Sorry, Evan.
