Boy Scout Troop 602 is proud to announce that they have three — yes three — new Eagle Scouts.
Evan Rittenhouse, Nick Tuttle and Michael Sull recently earned their Eagle Scout awards. This is the highest rank you can receive in Boy Scouts and requires that they each have each earned 21 merit badges, held a leadership position in their troop and then do a service project for a nonprofit organization. After their project is completed, they must then pass a board of review on their projects.
Evan Rittenhouse, a senior at Reservoir High School, created an artificial island in a swamp and planted Atlantic White Cedar trees on the island in an effort to help with reforestation. This island is located at the Arlington Echo Outdoor Education Center in Anne Arundel County. Evan passed his review in May.
Nick Tuttle, a junior at Reservoir, planned and then led an expansion of the Outdoor Education Center at Frisky's Wildlife Center in Western Howard County. His project required clearing of ivy, laying mulch, creating benches, stairs and railing. This area can now be used for the Center to education visitors or train volunteers. Nick passed his review in June.
Michael Sullivan, junior Class President at Reservoir, created two temporary mammal enclosures for Frisky's Wildlife Center. Frisky's is a nonprofit animal rescue and sanctuary. These enclosures will be used to house animals during recuperation until they can be released in the wild. Michael passed his review in June.
