Howard County Police are expecting traffic delays Sunday, Aug. 19 around the Centennial Park area in Ellicott City during the Athleta Iron Girl Columbia Triathlon.

Police are advising motorists to use caution while sharing the roads with the more than 2,000 anticipated participants.

Police said Route 108 westbound will be closed between Ten Mills Road and Centennial Lane from 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Police said that Centennial Lane southbound from the park entrance to Route 108 also will be closed.

Police said officers on bicycles will be deployed to help direct traffic and temporarily close roads to ensure the safety of the bicyclists.

Police said cyclists will be given the right of way on: Homewood Road, Folly Quarter Road, Carroll Mill Road, Mt. Albert Road, Cantor Lane, Jumpers Hill Road, and Triadelphia Road.
