Waxing poetic about the benefits of moon-phase gardening

As a child, there was a time when I believed that the moon was made of green cheese. I even got upset and lost interest in the moon when I found out that it was simply a lifeless rock orbiting our planet. But then the gardener in me got interested in the moon when I learned about the scientific connection between moon phases and soil moisture.
