The Oakland Mills Interfaith Center welcomes worshipers to an array of congregations, and now art lovers have a special place at the center’s new art gallery.
The Meeting House Gallery fills the perimeter of the center’s atrium entrance. A committee composed of members of different congregations decided on this new venture as a venue to explore diversity and celebrate unity through the arts.
“We needed to make our lobby inviting and interesting,” committee member Will Krupka said. “It was a good place to allow artists an opportunity to exhibit and sell their work, and at the same time allow our 3,000 members and visitors each week to find interest in our building.”
The Meeting House Gallery will showcase five exhibits each year and welcomes artists -- 18 years of age and older -- to submit an application to display work at the gallery.
The gallery is open daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. The gallery is closed on all observed federal holidays.
