Land Preservation Veto

Lambert Cissel, a Lisbon farmer, holds a sign expressing his opposition to senate bill 236, which limits the number of septic systems statewide by mapping future growth in tiers in order to preserve the Chesapeake Bay. Some county farmers are opposed to the bill, which they believe will eliminate much of their land's value. County Executive Ken Ulman announced his decision to veto the bill at the Clark farm in Ellicott City on Dec. 13. Photo by Sarah Pastrana
