Strangely enough, last week it was the two teams closest to my cold, professional heart, Aberdeen and Havre de Grace, that kept me from nailing down that first perfect record of the season. Looking ahead, next week's games are played on Thursday, Oct. 20, and since my prognostications are published on Fridays, I'm going to give you a double dose of picks, so you don't miss anything. Here's what I see happening
Friday, Oct. 14:
Rising Sun at Perryville. The undefeated Panthers will keep their perfect record intact with a win over the Tigers. The pick: Perryville wins 35-12.
Aberdeen at Bel Air. Smarting from back-to-back losses, the 4-2 Eagles will get back in the win column tonight. The pick: Aberdeen over Bel Air 28-14.
Havre de Grace at North Harford. The Hawks will not lose this one. The pick: North Harford wins 33-7.
Lansdowne and Fallston. Like Perryville, the Cougars will retain their perfect record with a victory. The pick: Fallston wins 21-20.
Patterson Mill at Edgewood. This could be a right fine matchup if both teams show up to play. The pick: Edgewood wins 28-24.
C. Milton Wright at Joppatowne. Both of these teams could use a win after last week's defeats. The pick: Joppatowne wins 34-10.
Harford Tech at North East. In any other year, I'd pick the Cobras without thinking about it, but this is the strongest North East team we've seen in a while. The pick: North East wins 14-11.
Thursday, Oct. 20:
Havre de Grace at Aberdeen. The big game! My favorite match up of the year! This time around, the Eagles have the juice to top the Warriors. The pick: Aberdeen wins 28-16.
Edgewood at Perryville. This is a tough pick, because Edgewood is coming back to life after a tough start, and Perryville has been running all over opponents. The pick: Perryville wins 35-33.
Joppatowne at Fallston. Another tough one. The pick: Fallston wins, 17-14.
North Harford at CMW. The pick: North Harford wins 42-9.
New Town at Bel Air. The pick: Bel Air wins 24-18.
Elkton at Harford Tech. The pick: Elkton wins 31-14.
North East at Patterson Mill. The pick: Patterson Mill wins 28-17.
