Havre de Grace
Head coach: Meredith Garback (ninth season), Aaron Thompson (20th season)
Key returning athletes: Carrie Amato, Jr.; Renz Amato, Sr.; Steven Ashman, Sr.; Abigail Blessing, Jr.; Paul Butz, So.; Hunter Infeld, So.; Jillian Larrimore, Jr.; Robbie Orzewicz, Sr.; Emily Schall, Sr.; Dan Schoeberlein, Sr.; Chris Worrell, Sr.
Key newcomers: Robert Bringardner, Fr.; Brianna Clark, Fr.; Alissa Lyons, Fr.; Nick Pippin, Fr.; Alyssa Smith, So.
Outlook: "Boasting the largest and most balanced team in recent history, the Warriors look to make bold statements in the pool each time they compete," coach Garback said. "The team is being lead this season by not only a very strong group of core upperclassmen, who have been growing and improving together tremendously with each season that passes, but also by a very strong freshman class with significant outside swimming experience coming into their first year of high school swimming. The lady Warriors look to finish their regular season with a winning record, and are hopeful that they can get a couple of Regional champions this year as well. In the process they are trying to also break some school records that have stood for almost a decade. On the guys side, the Warriors are looking for a second consecutive undefeated regular season, followed by a County championship, followed by several individual and relay Regional champions, and culminating in their first ever Regional team championship, followed by both individual and state champion relay teams that will hopefully lead to Havre de Grace's first ever team state title in swimming."
Head coach: Larry Dukes (ninth season)
Key returning athletes: Caleb Anderson, Jr.; Carrie Dukes, Jr.; Emily Cashour, Jr.; Sean Difatta, Sr.; Will Horn, Jr.; Jon Leishman, Jr.; Paige Tyler, So.; Katelyn Wolf, Jr.
Key newcomers: Amanda Brannan, Fr.; Hanna LeBuhn, Fr.; Billy Jump, Fr.
Outlook: "The Patriots girls will again challenge for the IAAM B championship after finishing as runner-up for the third straight year," coach Dukes said. "The prospectus has John Carroll battling Bryn Mawr in the end for the title. The Patriots are led by conference champion Carrie Dukes in the breaststroke and runner-up in butterfly. She will be joined by Katelyn Wolf, Paige Tyler and newcomer Hanna LeBuhn to form a strong medley and freestyle relay. On the boys side, the numbers are small again for the Patriots, but they will be strong in each event. The two meets that the Patriots boys won last year involved winning every individual event with one or two swimmers, and taking two of three relays. Mathematically, this is what it took to claim victory. The case will be similar in the 2011-12 season, where the Patriots will be led by senior Sean Difatta in the middle distance events, and Caleb Anderson, Will Horn and Jon Leishman in the sprints. Freshman Billy Jump will provide immediate help in any stroke and distance."

Key newcomers: Noah Appel; Kamara Black; Jackie Giere; Kenny Hamilton; Austin Koscan; Nick Lloyd; Dale Marx; Bailey Sands; Renne Sayers; Ryan Schmidt
Outlook: "We have again seen a surge in size and talent," coach Bley said. " We will have a renewed effort on focusing on good technique as well as hard work, and this will hopefully yield positive dividends in the pool. The coaching staff believes this year has the potential to be one of the best years for Joppatowne swimming in a long time."

Key returning athletes: Robbie Beichler, So.; Dan Curry, Jr.; Zoey Friedel, Jr.; Haley Jacobs, Jr.; Nicole Racine, Sr.; Max Wilson, Sr.
Key newcomers: Sarah Fannin, Fr.; Becky Jump, Fr.; Cahlin McDermott, Sr.
Outlook: "North Harford is looking good this year," coach Siegel said. "We did not lose that many seniors last year. We have some fantastic swimmers, and would like to see as many swimmers as possible go to the state meet at the University of Maryland in February. We would like to be the team to support not only each other but other teams as well. We hope to have a lot of fun and swim hard."
Head coaches: Shane Kelsey (second season), Jessica Kitner (third season)
Key returning athletes: Jeff Adams, Sr.; Emily Hirschman, Sr.; Jordan Johnson, So.; McKenzie Miller, Sr.; Jordan Raymond, Sr.; George Roros, So.
Key newcomers: Savannah Dawson, Fr.; Katie Kirkwood, Fr.; Brendan Mahoney, Fr.; Ayana Phillips, Jr.; Sydney Thompson, Fr.
Outlook: "After winning the regional championships last year, the women's team has high hopes of having an even more impressive season," coach Kitner said. " We look forward to being extremely competitive throughout the dual meet schedule, and seek for competitive finishes at the championship meets. While we have many strong returning swimmers, we also look forward to the incoming talent that has joined the team this year."Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
