The C. Milton Wright Mustangs cashed in on a fourth-inning rally during their Wednesday matchup to take an 8-4 victory over visiting North Harford.
With the score tied at 3-3 after three innings, the host-team Mustangs' Jordan Pross hit a two-run homerun before Caroline Weimer smashed an RBI single to put CMW up, 6-3.
CMW added insurance runs in the fifth and sixth innings, while North Harford's final tally came in the top of the sixth.
Pross finished the game 2-for-3 with three RBIs, while Weimer was 3-for-3 with a walk, two runs and one stolen base.
MacKenzie Fitzgerald helped the winning cause with a two-run homer, while teammate Lindsay Ibberson was 2-for-2 with a walk and two steals. CMW's Emily Luzetsky went 2-for-4 with three steals, two runs and one RBI.
North Harford's hot bat belonged to Kaitlyn Horsey, who was 2-for-3 with a pair of home runs.
The pitching win went to CMW's Katie Lydic, who allowed two earned runs on two hits over four innings of work. Morgan Fulton closed the game for the Mustangs, surrendering one earned run on two hits and one walk.
Aberdeen gets first win
Helped by a tremendous offensive showing from Sarah Tyc, the Aberdeen Eagles jumped into the win column Wednesday for the first time this season, coming out on top of their road game with Elkton, 11-8.
Tyc finished the game 4-for-4 at the plate, with three home runs and one base hit.
Aberdeen's Abby Harrison also smashed a home run in the victory.
Eagle starter Emily Nance tossed a complete game to earn her first varsity pitching win.
Harford Tech over Tome
The Harford Tech Cobras won a road matchup Wednesday, defeating the Tome softball squad, 12-6.
Kaitlyn Vane led the Harford Tech offense, going 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles, while teammate Kimmie Cook went 2-for-3 with a solo home run. Alyssa Hockaday was 4-for-5 at the plate for Harford.
Cook was credited with the pitching win.
The Joppatowne girls lost, 16-1, on Wednesday in a road game with the Bo Manor Eagles.
The game was halted after the fifth inning by the 10-run mercy rule.
Fallston's game at Edgewood scheduled for Wednesday was postponed until April 9 at 3:30 p.m.
Bel Air's Wednesday contest at Perryville was rescheduled for April 23 at 3:30 p.m.
