Ma and Paw 5K

Edgar Narciso and Katherine Hopkins led way and finished ahead of the canine runners in the RASAC Ma and Paw 5K in Bel Air Sunday.

Narciso led the pack up a steep hill to the finish on the Liriodendron grounds to finish 4 seconds ahead of runner-up John Heller in 22:34. Kevyn Allgeier took third in 43:44, Valentine Apolinar, fourth in 24:46, and Mike Woodring, fifth in 26:06.

Among the women, Hopkins finished in 27:58 to lead Karen Henry by 1:14. Ashley Pelletier, 29:48; Jen Seidl, 30:04; and Angie DiCarello, 32:55, took the next three places. The race, directed by John Carroll student Hunter Kothenbeutel, raised $300 for the Harford animal shelter.

Meghan Dryden of Abingdon finished second among the women in the Hopewell Cancer Support ROAR 5K Sunday in Baltimore. Andrew Galbreath of Street was second in 16-19 in 22:40 and Joy Hayward of Abingdon was third in under-16 in 24:02. There were 950 finishers.

Kim Roberts of Bel Air won the women's race of the Anchors Aweigh 5K in Chesapeake Isle April 13. She ran 24:07.
