Mustangs beat North Harford in OT

Harford County's two best girls lacrosse teams waged a battle Thursday night in Pylesville as C. Milton Wright and North Harford vied for the top spot in the UCBAC's Chesapeake Division.

The game could not be settled in regulation and CMW won, 12-11, in overtime.

The Mustangs (5-0/9-2) won on Abby Smucker's game-high fifth goal in the final seconds of overtime.

The Mustangs had a 9-6 lead with three minutes left in regulation, but North Harford (4-1/9-3) stormed back and tied the game at 9-9 with 34 seconds left.

CMW went up 11-9 in the overtime, but the Hawks battled back to retie at 11-11, setting up Smucker's heroics.

North Harford kept itself in the game on free position shooting. The Hawks scored seven of their 11 goals from the spot.

In addition to Smucker, Lauren Haggerty and Katie Burgee each scored two goals. Brooke Williams, Katie Gallagher and Maggie Gallagher also had goals.

Maddie Dolinar led the Hawks with three goals, while Emily Clark, Kelli Gerding and Leah Monticello added two goals apiece. Brittany Boden and Julia Schrof also had goals.

Katie Gallagher also had the Mustangs only assist. Gerding had two assists for the Hawks and Boden had one.

CMW keeper Heather McKee made 10 saves and North Harford goalie Haley Ensor made seven.

CMW led 5-4 at the half.

Cougars beat Huskies

Fallston (4-1/8-3) earned a Chesapeake win Thursday night, 14-6, over visiting Patterson Mill (2-3/3-10).

Sam Nolan's four goals led the Cougars scoring, while Christina Wright added three goals. Courtney Laubach also had multiple goals with two.

Nolan also dished out five assists and Lindsay Summers had two. Wright, Jenna Mosketti and Laubach also had assists.

Emily Keesling scored two goals to lead Patterson Mill. Other goal scorers were Sam Herman, Sam Boyce, Amy Bednarek and Kelly Dyke. Herman also had one assist.

Grace Deckert (three saves) and Jordan Wagner (six saves) shared duties for Fallston and Erin Dent made 12 saves for the Huskies.

The Cougars led 8-2 at the half.
