The Patterson Mill boys earned a season-opening victory Wednesday, beating visiting Mt. Hebron, 13-5, in boys lacrosse.
Chase Wedekind and Josh Wilson led the Huskies in scoring with four scores each, while Deonte Alston and Brandon Burris each scored a pair of goals in the victory. Michael McIntyre had one goal for the Huskies.
Burris led Patterson Mill in assists with two.
Havre de Grace smashes Edgewood
The Havre de Grace Warriors started things off well on Wednesday, pummeling the visiting Edgewood Rams, 15-0, in their season opening contest.
The Warriors led 6-0 after one quarter, and were up 11-0 at halftime.
Justin Gosnell paced the Warrior offense, scoring six times and handing out a pair of assists. Keenan Villareal and Ryan Wilson each scored twice in the victory, while Nick Burley helped out with one goal and a team-best three assists. Havre de Grace's Donald Matts had one goal in the win, while teammates Brian Cameron, Connor Haffey and Brad Davidson all had one goal. Chris Anderson supplied the Warriors with one assist.
Brian Cameron saved five shots while tending the net for Havre de Grace, while fellow Warrior goalie Derek Freels had one save.
Eagles knocked off
Aberdeen went on the road and lost, 12-9, to Patapsco.
The hosts jumped out to an early 5-0 lead, and were leading, 7-1, by the end of the first quarter. The Eagles pulled to within one goal in the fourth quarter, but could not post the tying goal.
Blaise Curtis led the way for the Eagles, netting five goals and handing out three assists. Kevin Shumaker had two goals and two assists in the loss, while teammate Justin Howard had two goals. Kyle Peters dished out two assists for the Eagles, while Dylan Mauzy had one assist.
Bobcats beaten by one
The Bel Air boys lost by a single goal on Wednesday, as the Bobcats were knocked off, 6-5, by the visiting Dulaney Lions.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
