The C. Milton Wright Mustangs earned a home court victory Monday night, beating the visiting Overlea Falcons, 68-62. Corey Bays and Mychal Stefanides led the Mustangs in scoring, with each netting 14 points.
Bays paced CMW with seven rebounds, while Stefanides had a team-high three assists. Will Hazelton scored eight points and led the Mustangs in steals with three.
Logan Keys had nine points in the victory, while teammate Alex Battaglia added eight points. Connor Bays netted seven points of CMW.
Edgewood smashes Bel Air
The Edgewood Rams cruised to an 80-51 home-court victory over Bel Air Monday night.
Danny Crawford came through with a game-best 17 points for Edgewood, while fellow Ram Roderick Harrison had 15 points. Lolami Charles and Kevin Ringgold both had 12 points in the victory, while Detrick Matthews added nine to the winning tally.
Crawford led the Rams in rebounds with seven. Ringgold and Harrison both had seven assists, while Crawford dished out five assists. Harrison also paced Edgewood in steals with five.
Patterson Mill dominates
Patterson Mill suffered a loss at home Monday, as the Huskies were edged, 59-56, by visiting Western Tech.
Mike Reed posted 17 points to lead the Huskies in scoring, while teammate Malik Bonds was close behind with 16 tallies. Kevin Dorsey scored nine for Patterson Mill.
North Harford wins Friday
Playing on the road in Friday night, the North Harford Hawks came home with a 48-34 victory over the Hereford Bulls.
"I'm very proud of the way we bounced back tonight," Hawks head coach Jeff Burrows said. "We had a great defensive effort tonight."
Brock Hurley netted 10 points to lead the Hawks, while Eric Bayer added eight points to the winning tally. Ryan Feiss scored seven points in the victory. Hurley also led the Hawks in rebounds, pulling down 11 boards to complete the double-double.
Patterson Mill dominates
The Patterson Mill Huskies earned a home-court victory Friday, dispatching the Rising Sun Tigers easily, 59-16.
The Huskies led, 40-9, at halftime.
Kevin Dorsey had a game-high 17 points in the victory, while Keyon Williams and Malik Bonds both posted eight points. Mike Reed scored seven points for the Huskies.
Aberdeen over Joppatowne
The Aberdeen Eagles bounced back from a Thursday loss by topping the visiting Joppatowne Mariners, 60-48, on Friday evening.
Anthony Bennett had 23 points, five rebounds, two blocks and one assist in the victory, while teammate Tyril Rozier dropped 16 points, two rebounds, three assists and three steals. Aberdeen's Alex Funcheon had nine rebounds, six steals and three assists, while fellow Eagle Darryn Garner had 11 rebounds, six steals, five assists and one block. Nate McKinney had four points, four rebounds, two assists and four steals for the Eagles.
Leading Joppatowne in the loss was Jermaine Head Jr., who had 16 points, five rebounds and five assists. Markell Huggins notched eight points, four blocks and six rebounds for the Mariners, while teammate Sean Tanner put up six points. Joppatowne's Gary Blackston had four points and a team-best 10 rebounds, while Matthew Jones registered four points and 10 assists in the defeat.
HdG knocks off Fallston
One night after a tough, two-point loss to C. Milton Wright, the Havre de Grace Warriors picked up their first win of the season Thursday by knocking off their host, Fallston, 50-46.
Lavell McCullers had a double-double in the victory, posting 16 points and 12 rebounds. Tyriel Calhoun registered 12 points and four rebounds for the Warriors, and teammate Zayrron Blake had six points and six rebounds.
Opening their season Thursday night with a home-court contest, the Aberdeen Eagles lost, 60-49, to the visiting Atholton Raiders.
Leading the way for the Eagles was Anthony Bennett, who notched eight points, six of which came from beyond the three-point line. Bennett went a perfect 6-for-6 at the free-throw line.
Aberdeen's Darryn Garner put up 13 points in the loss.
