Edgewood boys, Tech girls claim region track crowns

The Edgewood boys and Harford Tech girls overcame early doses of adversity in the Class 2A East Region track and field meet May 16 and 18 at Chesapeake City. Both teams shrugged off the misfortunes and proceeded to win the regional championships by big margins.

The Perryville boys and girls track and field teams both won 1A North region titles Saturday, while Aberdeen senior Jimmia McCluskey was up to her usual winning ways in leading the Aberdeen girls to a third-place finish in the 3A North meet.

Though Harford County boys lacrosse fans couldn't have a loser Tuesday evening at UMBC, fans of the Fallston Cougars are a bit happier, as the Cougars won their second straight Maryland Class 1A-2A state championship, beating neighboring foe Patterson Mill, 15-5.
