Swim teams from North Harford and Fallston got the best of their opponents in two double dual-meets Friday.
North Harford beat Harford Tech, 108-78, and Edgewood, 132-55, at Edgewood Middle School. Tech also beat Edgewood, 107-79.
Meanwhile, at Magnolia Middle, Fallston edged John Carroll, 96-90, and Bel Air, 102-86. John Carroll also won a close meet with Bel Air, 96-90.
At Edgewood, North Harford was guided by a strong girls team effort. Zoey Friedel led the way with wins in the 100 free and 100 back events. Emily Boegner added a win in the 100 fly and Haley Jacobs won the 50 free. Becky Jump was also a winner in the 200 free.
The Hawks also won the 400 free relay and 200 medley relay. The free relay team was comprised of Stephanie Wilson, Jump, Jacobs and Friedel. The medley relay team was Jump, Anne Collins, Jacobs and Paulena Dempsey.
Edgewood's Sydnee Holquist was a double winner, taking the 200 IM and 500 free, while Tech's lone winner was Katie Doleschal in the 100 breast.
North Harford won the girls meet, beating Tech 74-18 and Edgewood 76-18. Edgewood also beat Tech, 64-28.
In the boys meet, Tech rolled to wins over both North Harford, 60-34, and Edgewood, 79-15. North Harford beat Edgewood, 56-37.
Leading Tech were three double winners. Brandon Carestia won the 100 back and 200 IM, while Travis Girvin doubled up in the 50 and 100 free races and Justin Carestia added wins in the 100 fly and 100 breast.
The Cobras also posted wins in the 200 medley relay (Brandon Carestia, Justin Carestia, Jake Zeigler, Girvin) and 400 free relay (Girvin, Zeigler, Justin Carestia, Brandon Carestia).
North Harford's Robbie Beichler was a double winner, taking the 200 free and 500 free events. Matt Ward, Josh Stoecker, Brody Dannenfelser and Beichler combined to win the 200 free relay.
At Magnolia, Fallston's boys racked up two relay wins and seven individual wins. Grant Burgess won the 200 IM and 500 free races, while Austin Appel was also a double winner in the 100 fly and 100 back heats.
Sam Burgess won the 200 free and Jacob Ryan won the 50 free, while Ryan Hutchens won the 100 breast.
Grant Burgess, Sam Burgess, Ryan and Appel teamed to win the 400 free relay, while Appel, Hutchens, Grant Burgess and Ryan won the 200 medley relay.
John Carroll picked up a win in the 100 free by Caleb Anderson and Bel Air got a win in the 200 free relay from the team of Chris Wilson, Ben Barsam, Tyler Luby and Bryce McGuire.
Fallston beat John Carroll, 67-26, and Bel Air, 61-33. Bel Air beat John Carroll, 51-41.
John Carroll dominated the girls meets, beating Fallston, 64-29, and Bel Air, 55-39. Bel Air also beat Fallston, 53-41.
Carrie Dukes led the Patriots with wins in the 100 fly and 500 free, while Paige Tyler won the 200 free. Emily Cashour won the 200 IM and Katelyn Wolf won the 100 back.
The Patriots also won two relays, the 200 free and 400 free.
Bel Air's Macey Nitchie was a double winner in the 50 free and 100 breast and Hannah Stambaugh added a win for the Bobcats in the 100 free.
Grace Davis, Grace Walker, Taylor Chan and Nitchie made up the winning 200 medley relay team.
Warriors sweep Huskies, Mariners
The Havre de Grace swim team picked up two more wins Thursday night, beating Patterson Mill, 108-79, and Joppatowne, 144-44, in a double dual meet at Magnolia Middle School.
Patterson Mill defeated Joppatowne 126-61.
The Warrior boys dominated the meet, winning first in all but one event. Robbie Orzewicz won the 200 IM and the 100 breaststroke, while Daniel Schoeberlein was also a double individual winner, taking the 200 freestyle and the 100 butterfly.
Renz Amato won the 100 free, while Robert Bringardner won the 500 free. Chris Worrell added a win in the 100 backstroke.
The Warriors also swept the relays, winning the 200 medley, 200 free and 400 free. Worrell, Orzewicz, Schoeberlein and Amato combined to win the medley relay, while Steven Ashman and Paul Butz joined Schoeberlein and Amato in the winning 200 free relay.
The winning 400 free relay members were Butz, Amato, Worrell and Hunter Infeld.
The Warriors won the boys meets easily, beating Patterson Mill, 77-16, and Joppatowne, 76-18. Patterson Mill beat Joppatowne, 126-61.
Joppatowne's Jeremy Clark won the 50 free.
Patterson Mill's girls team had two double winners: Sydney Thompson won the 200 IM and 100 back, while Ayana Phillips won the 50 free and 100 breast. Emily Hirschman was first in the 200 free. The Huskies also won the 200 medley (Jordan Raymond, Philips, Katie Kirkwood, Delaney Miller) and 400 free (Thompson, McKenzie Miller, Kirkwood, Hirschman) relays.
Havre de Grace also had three wins from the girls. Alyssa Smith took the 100 butterfly, while Carrie Amato won the 100 free and Allissa Lyons won the 500 free.
The Warriors girls also won the 200 free relay with the team of Smith, Rebecca Ashman, Emily Schall and Carrie Amato.
Patterson Mill won both girls meets. The Huskies beat Havre de Grace 63-31 and Joppatowne 76-18. Havre de Grace beat Joppatowne, 68-26.
Mustangs dunk Eagles
C. Milton Wright won everything but two girls events as the Mustangs swam past Aberdeen, 271-60, in a dual meet at North Harford Middle Thursday. The Mustang boys won 140-34 and the girls won 131-26.
Ian Kearney, Kyle Paxton and Colin Hildebeidel were double individual winners for the Mustang boys. Kearney won the 200 and 500 free races, while Hildebeidel claimed the 100 free and 100 breast events. Paxton's wins came in the 100 butterfly and 100 back races.
Darren Slotnick (50 free) and Bernie Chang (200 IM) were also winners.
The Mustang girls had six individual winners. Julia O'Mara won the 200 IM, while Rachel Flint swam to victory in the 50 free. Lauren O'Mara won the 100 free and Katie Gallagher won the 500 free. Also, Taylor Nesbit won the 100 back and Monica Youn, the 100 breast.
CMW also swept all three relays, in both the boys and girls competitions. In the medley relays, Chang, Hildebeidel, Kearney and Slotnick won for the boys, while Erika Abshire, Lauren O'Mara, Ida Ehrhardt and Youn won for the girls.
The boys 200 free relay winners were Ryan Pelligrino, Tyler Dellaratta, Nate Ehrhardt and Kearney. The girls winning 200 free relay team was Lindsey Jackson, Abshire, Julia O'Mara and Flint.
Closing out the CMW sweeps in the 400 free relays were boys Slotnick, Andrew Youn, Hildebeidel and Chang. The girls were Erika Slotnick, Maggie Gallagher, Moira Espinosa and Flint.
