High school golf teams went back to the courses Thursday as the early part of the golf season continued.
At Geneva Farm Golf Course in Street, North Harford picked up a tri-match win in its first action of the season, while at Winters Run Golf Course, host Bel Air won its second straight tri-match.
In North Harford's win the Hawks, led by Luke Johnson's match-best score of 41, scored 221 to beat Patterson Mill (236) and North East (260). Aiding in North Harford's win were Austin Wilcox, 42; Sam VanValkenberg, 45; Josh Nagengast, 46; and Morgan Wirtz, 47. Greg Daffron also shot 47 for the Hawks.
Jake Buher paced Patterson Mill with 44, while Luke Sharretts and Brett Michael each shot 47. Sean Powers and Matt Gabor closed out the Huskies scoring with a 49 each and Brendon Mahoney shot a 50.
Ryan Barrows led North East with a 44, the lone Indians player to scoot below 50.
Bobcats win again
In Bel Air's win the Bobcats won behind the best two scores of the match. Nick Loiodice led all players, shooting 38, while Tyler Newton was a couple strokes back with 40. Bel Air shot 217 to beat Fallston (226) and Harford Tech (280).
Matt McGee added a 45 and Cody Smith shot 46 for the Bobcats, while Kevin Morrissey and female player Spencer Comitz, each shot 48.
JD Appel's round of 42 was tops for Fallston, while Connor Van Scyoc and Dylan Wolf each shot 45. Zach Billings added a 46 and Tommy St. Clair shot 48. Nick Petraglia added a 50 for Fallston.
Nick Gardiner and Mason Paradiso each shot 52 to lead Tech's scoring, while Cullen Chase shot 55. Tech's other scores were Noah Long, 59; Connor Milanicz, 62; and Chris Stallings, 67.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
