Bel Air

Head coach: Tim Markland (fifth year)

Outlook: "This year we return eight seniors to our team with great experience and skill. Adding to this is a strong group of junior talent," coach Markland said. "The girls have prepared themselves physically for this season and realize the opportunities we have to do very well. Our team's success will be defined by how hard we train and prepare in practice as well as staying focused on keeping the team first mentality."

C. Milton Wright

Head coach: David Marzola (third year)

2011 record: 16-3

Top returners: Tori Smith, Jr., (Outside Hitter); Alyssa Horton, Sr., (Setter); Jenna Buettner, Sr., (Defensive specialist)

Key newcomers: Haleigh Plummer, Jr., (Middle Hitter)

Outlook: This year's C. Milton Wright team is focused and looking forward to moving back into the Chesapeake Division after a great run last year. The Mustangs have six returning players including All-County outside hitter Smith. These six players along with four players up from Junior Varsity and one newcomer will make for a good season. Coach Marzola realizes he lost a lot of height from last year's team, however, the athletic potential of this team will make the season exciting.

Edgewood

Head coach: Beth Brown (second year)

2011 record: NA

Top returning players: Kayla Edwards, Sr., (Middle Hitter); Kelsey Swann, Jr., (Setter), Bryanna Lafalaise

Key newcomers: Nashali Ayala, Sr., (Outside hitter); Shannon Bowman, Jr., (Defensive specialist); Kayla McMillan, Fr., (Outside hitter); Julia Gatch, Fr., (Outside hitter)

Outlook: "With the loss of five of our starters last year, Edgewood looks to rebuild the team this season with fresh talent," coach Brown said.

Fallston

Head coach: Michael Turlik (first year)

2011 record: 16-3

Top returning players: Phoenix Offutt, Jr., (Middle/Outside hitter); Asia Avena, Jr., (Outside hitter); Kim Geer, Sr., (Outside hitter)

Key newcomers: Brooke Alexander, Jr., (Outside/Middle hitter); Emily Mozal, Jr., (Setter); Lizeta Argiropoulos, Jr., (Opposite hitter)

Outlook: "We are a very young team and have room to grow into our roles on the team," coach Turlik said. "We are looking forward to continuing the long tradition of excellence that is associated with Fallston volleyball."

Harford Christian

Head coach: Heather Dodson (second year)

2011 record: 12-8

Top returning players: Danielle Fiedler, Sr., (Opposite hitter); Chloe Akers, Jr., (Setter); Nicole Gilpin, Sr., (Hitter); Kelsey Williams, Jr., (Hitter)

Key newcomers: Morgan Burke, So., (Back row specialist)

Outlook: "This is a rebuilding season after graduating seven seniors last year. This year we will focus on a new begining and our team unity," coach Dodson said.

Harford Tech

Head coach: Alison Leslie (fifth year)

2011 record: 4-8

Top returning players: Britney Chavis, Sr., (Middle hitter); Casey Pilar, Sr., (Middle/Outside hitter); Alyssa Hockaday, Jr., (Outside hitter); Jamie Tubao, Jr., (Setter)

Key newcomers: Ashley Huster, Jr., (Middle hitter); Kelly Martak, Jr., (Setter)

Outlook: "I think this will be a strong season for Cobra volleyball. We have a group of girls who are very comfortable with each other on and off the court," coach Leslie said. "This is giving them tremendous communication skills that is helping the team execute higher levels of play than we have seen in past."

Havre de Grace

Head coach: Alaina Schleich (first year)

2011 record: 0-12

Top returning players: Sarah Scott, Sr., (Setter); Ashley Algard, Jr., (All-around); Rebecca Ashman, Jr., (Outside hitter); Reilly Crawford, Jr., (All-around); Sarah Thompson, Jr., (All-around); Ardesia White, Jr., (All-around); Jaimee Cooper, Jr., (All-around); Emilee Bubb, So., (Middle hitter); Samara White, So., (Outside hitter)

Outlook: "I am excited for the upcoming season and think Havre de Grace will be a strong team this year in the UCBAC," coach Schleich said. "We lost a few seniors last year but the returning players have stepped up the tempo and worked hard to get the team ready. I am blessed to be able to coach such wonderful young athletes. I am looking forward to a great season."

John Carroll

Head coach: Greg Cullison (26th yyear)

2011 record: 15-4

Top returning players: Elise Adamson, Sr., (Outside hitter); Briana Lockhart, Jr., (Setter)

Key newcomers: Natalie Lindeman, Sr., (Setter/Libero)

Outlook: The Patriots are moving up to the A conference after repeating as the B conference champions the last three years. The Patriots lost a great deal of experience due to graduation and hope to find players to fill that void. The A conference will be a big step up in competition but the Patriots welcome the challenge, says coach Cullison.

Joppatowne

Head coach: Michelle Seals-Andrews (third year)

2011 record: 3-12

Top returning players: None.

Key newcomers: None.

Outlook: Season of rebuilding with young players, according to coach Seals-Andrews.

North Harford

Head coach: Sheri Billings (third year)

2011 record: 8-6

Top returning players: Morgan Knox, Sr., (Middle hitter); Britney Fleming, Sr., (Outside hitter)

Key newcomers: Alexis Lyttle, So., (Middle hitter); Allyson Meil, Jr., (Defensive specialist)

Outlook: "We graduated five seniors last year but this year's team is filling into those positions quickly and working hard to learn the systems. We should be one of the top teams in the division this year," coach Billings said.

Patterson Mill

Head coach: Dona Bohlen (first year)

2011 record: NA

Top returning players: None.

Key newcomers: Taylor Moran, Sr., (Middle blocker); Dana Gileza, Sr., (Outside hitter); Kayla McDowell, Jr., (Setter)

Outlook: The team is looking forward to a fun and competitive season, says Bolen.
