C. Milton Wright and visiting Fallston battled through five sets Monday to decide their Chesapeake match. The Mustangs (4-2, 5-3) edged the Cougars (1-6, 2-7), 3-2.
Fallston won the first game, 25-22, but CMW evened the match with a 25-17 win in game two. Fallston won game three, 25-19, but CMW battled back to take game four, 25-20, and the decisive fifth game, 15-4.
The Mustangs were led by Lena Sharesky's 13 kills, three aces and four digs. Also contributing were Alyssa Horton, 26 assists, two aces and three kills; Tori Smith, 12 kills, five aces, five digs and one assist; and Mallory Turnbull, three aces, two digs and two blocks.
Fallston was led by Phoenix Offutt's seven kills, while Brooke Alexander and Kim Geer added five kills each. Emily Mozal had 20 assists and Alexander led the defense with 12 digs.
Perryville beats North Harford
North Harford took its unbeaten Susquehanna Division record into Monday's UCBAC battle with visiting Perryville and the Panthers dealt the Hawks (6-1 league, 6-2 overall) their first loss.
The Hawks fell in four games by scores of 23-25, 25-16, 19-25 and 7-25.
Morgan Knox guided the Hawks efforts with nine kills and one block, while Sammi Moore added five aces ands two kills. Syd Billings had two aces and eight assists and Sam Pappas finished with six kills and two aces.
Warriors edge Rams
Havre de Grace (3-5, 3-6) edged visiting Edgewood, 3-2, in Susquehanna play Monday.
The Warriors won the first two games, 25-18 and 25-13, but Edgewood (1-5, 1-6) rallied to win the next two, 25-22 and 25-21. Havre de Grace won game five, 15-7.
Sarah Scott led Havre de Grace with 25 points, two kills and 15 aces. Rebecca Ashman added 12 points, four kills and seven aces and Emily Bubb had 16 points, one block and four kills. Also, Riley Crawford had 10 points, two kills and two aces; Jamie Cooper had 10 points, four aces and two kills and Ashley Algard had 28 points and 10 aces.
Kayla Edwards had four blocks to lead Edgewood.
Eagles sweep Cobras
Aberdeen's hot streak continued Monday as the Eagles (5-2, 5-2) beat visiting Harford Tech (3-5, 3-5), 3-0. The scores were 25-17, 25-23 and 25-19.
Mariners still winless
Joppatowne (0-8, 0-8) is still looking for a win after a 3-0 Susquehanna loss at Bo Manor. The host Eagles winning scores were 25-12, 25-14 and 25-13.
Fallston beats Elkton
The Fallston girls volleyball squad won its match Friday, defeating the Elkton Golden Elks in five games.
The Cougars took the first game, 25-18, lost the second, 25-22, then won the third, 26-24. The Elks tied things up, 2-2, with a 25-23 win in the fourth contest, but the Cougars wrapped things up with a 15-11 win in the tiebreaker game.
Alex Dippel led the winning side, posting seven kills. Brooke Alexander had six kills in the victory, while teammate Phoenix Offutt had eight kills. Emily Mozal led had a team-best 28 assists in the victory, while Megan Snee had 13 digs. Offutt paced Fallston in blocks with seven.
Tech sweeps HdG
The Harford Tech Cobras knocked off the visiting Havre de Grace Warriors in three straight games on Friday, 25-18, 25-16 and 25-22.
Casey Pilar had two aces, one kill and seven digs in the victory, while teammate Brittney Chavis had nine aces and three kills. Jamie Tubao posted 32 assists, two kills and two aces in the win, while fellow Cobra Alyssa Hockaday notched six aces, six sets and two kills.
North Harford over Joppatowne
The North Harford Hawks beat visiting Joppatowne, 25-9, 25-16 and 25-16 on Friday.
Becca Simon had four aces in the win, while teammate Bridget Sax had three aces. Sammi Moore, Britney Fleming and Sydney Billings all had two aces for the Hawks.
Bel Air wins on road
Playing on the road Thursday night, the Bel Air Bobcats topped North East girls volleyball squad in three straight games.
The Bobcats took the first game, 25-18, won the second, 25-20, and then sealed the victory with a 25-15 win in the final game.
Celeste Roland led Bel Air with 11 kills, 11 perfect passes and two aces. Kaila Gonzalez had 10 kills in the victory, while teammate Jackie DeLuise had five kills and two aces. Bel Air's Jen Schofield had 20 assists and two kills.
