The girls high school volleyball season got under way Friday with a "Battle of Bel Air." Host Bel Air was the winner, sweeping John Carroll in three games, 26-24, 25-14 and 25-9.
Highlighting the Bel Air win were Amanda Rodriguez, three kills, 20 assists and six aces, Jackie DeLuise with six kills and six aces, Celeste Roland with five kills and two aces and Tia Williams with five kills.
Madi Bever had three kills and two aces, Sarah Sherba had three kills and Kaila Gonzalez had two kills.
The Bobcats also received outstanding back row defense from Rien Hachmann and Kendall Daley.
