The first big UCBAC girls lacrosse divisional contest was played Thursday night in Fountain Green, where the C. Milton Wright Mustangs hosted the Fallston Cougars in a Chesapeake Division game.

CMW, despite multiple first half turnovers, still had a 7-3 halftime lead. The Mustangs (1-0 league, 6-0 overall) tightened things up in half number two en route to the 15-5 win.

"We were not very pleased with our first half play as we had nine turnovers. At halftime we challenged ourselves to improve everywhere," CMW Head Coach Brent Ritz said. "We wanted to come out and have a stronger second half and finish the game on a good note. The girls really responded increasing our pace of play and working more as a unit in the second half. Our increased effort was seen in our ride today, a result of the girls working hard in practice to improve."

Lauren Haggerty and Kaitlan Moynihan paced the Mustangs with three goals apiece. Maggie Gallagher, Abby Smucker and Brooke Williams scored two goals each, and single goals were scored by Katie Burgee, Haley Alexander and Renee Landis. Williams added two assists, while Moynihan, Smucker, Gallagher and Alexander each had one.
