With the UCBAC's Chesapeake Division boys lacrosse title on the line, Fallston traveled to Patterson Mill Wednesday night for a showdown of division unbeatens.
When time was up, it was the Cougars who went back home a happy bunch behind a 14-10 victory.
Zach Wheeler was the main scoring weapon for the Cougars, finding the nets six times, while Kyle D'Onofrio added three scores. Both players also had assists.
Taylor Brown and Greg Horsham chipped in with two goals each and Jason Lawrence added a single goal.
Josh Wilson's four goals highlighted the Huskies (3-1/8-3) efforts, while Deonte Alston also had multiple goals, netting three. Mike McIntyre, Chase Wedekind and Brandon Burris each scored once for Patterson Mill.
Marc Badger, Zack Esser and Horsham also had assists for the Cougars (4-0/6-5).
Fallston goalie Caleb Abney finished with 11 saves, while Huskies goalie Jay Kuhn made six saves.
Fallston led 10-3 at the half.
Cobras beat Elks
Harford Tech kept its Susquehanna record unbeaten and its title hopes alive Wednesday evening with a 14-9 win over visiting Elkton. The Cobras (4-0/4-4) led 3-2 after one quarter and 7-5 at the half.
Zack Valenti scored four goals to pace the Cobras, while Dan Ashburn netted three goals. Tyler Fullem and Zac Taylor each added two goals, while single goals were scored by Mike Mentzer, Thomas Burley and Greg Ransone.
Dan Ashburn and Fullem had three assists apiece, while Ron Huber, Mentzer and Ransone also had assists.
Josh Sanders led Elkton with three goals.
Tech goalie Sean Klein made 10 saves and Elkton goalie Mack Hayes had 11 saves.
Mustangs beat Indians
C. Milton Wright picked up an easy win Wednesday, beating visiting North East, 21-5, in Chesapeake action. The Mustangs (2-2/9-3) led 15-4 at the half.
Alex Meholic showed the way for CMW, which had 13 players find the nets. Meholic scored four times and assisted on another, while Andrew Ward scored three times.
Alex Kleinberg, Nick Kuzma (three assists) and Andy LeBrun (one assist) each scored two goals. Single goal scorers were Matt Bollinger, Max Matthai (two assists), Ben Boyd, Dan Kissner, Drew Kissner (one assist), Andrew Brown, Andrew Bognanni and Christian Cox. Austin Schilling also had an assist for the Mustangs.
Goalie Matt Corn did not register a save.
Hawks beat Warriors
North Harford defeated visiting Havre de Grace, 15-3, Wednesday night in Chesapeake action.
Andrew Siegel led the Hawks (1-2/7-4) with five goals, two assists and 10 ground balls, while Joel Linkous, John Heaps and Austin Ensor each netted two goals. Randy Foster, Max Mullin, Ryan Warren and defender TJ Hilton each scored single goals.
Brooks Billings and Mullin also added two assists apiece, while single assists were dished out by Linkous, Foster and Ensor.
Havre de Grace was led offensively by Casey Brown's one goal and one assist. Fellow freshmen Nick Burley and Connor Haffey added a goal apiece and Chris Anderson had an assist.
Hawk goalies Cameron Brosh (six saves) and Matt Goedeke (one save) combined on the win.
Warrior keeper Brian Cameron had 16 saves.
Eagles beat Rams
Aberdeen (2-3/3-7) cruised past visiting Edgewood, 17-2, in Susquehanna action Wednesday evening.
Ruchir Patel (three assists), Kevin Shumaker (two assists) and Jon Jones (two assists) each had three goals to lead the Eagles.
Jake Kilmon and Blaise Curtis (one assist) had two goals apiece, while Kyle Peters (three assists), Justin Howard (two assists), Chumani Johnson and Brendon Snead each had single goals.
Jake Wilmer accounted for both Edgewood (0-4/0-7) goals.
Patriots win two
John Carroll picked up two wins over the past week, winning 8-7 in overtime at home last Friday against Annapolis Area Christian School and then beat host Glenelg Country School, 17-6, Tuesday. The wins improved the Patriots record to 7-2.
In the most recent win, Boomer Walton scored five goals to lead the Patriots, while Jake Brown added four goals and one assist. Eric Riley finished with three goals and an assist and Nick Drueling had two goals. Sully Gerety, Cody Saunders and Kevin Gambrell each had single goals. Eric McIntyre contributed three assists and Gerety and Gambrell also had assists.
Brown and Patrick McGuirk combined to win 90 percent of the faceoffs. John Carroll goalies Alex Gambrell and Jack Miller each made six saves.
In the OT win last week, Gerety scored three times and assisted on two others to pace the winners. Dominic Mezzanotte added two goals and two assists and Brown had one goal and one assist. Walton and Alex Gambrell also had goals.
