Monday turned out to be a pretty tough day for a couple of traveling boys lacrosse teams. North Harford (6-4) visited Kent Island and came back home with a 15-8 loss, while Bel Air (5-4) visited South River and lost 15-3.
In North Harford's loss, Joel Linkous led the Hawks with three goals. Brooks Billings, Randy Foster, Andrew Siegel, Max Mullin and defenseman Brock Hurley each had single goals.
Foster added two assists, while Billings and Andrew Kropkowski had one assist each.
Siegel scooped up a team-high six ground balls, while Billings and Hurley had four ground balls apiece. Trevor Hathaway chipped in with three ground balls.
The Hawks played two goalies - Cameron Brosh had eight saves and Matt Geodeke had two.
No further details were available in the Bel Air loss.
Mustangs beat Knights
The C. Milton Wright boys lacrosse team took a break from the rugged UCBAC schedule Friday to host and defeat the Century Knights from Carroll County. The Mustangs, who improved to 7-3 overall, won 6-4, on goals from six different players.
Scoring for the Mustangs were Andrew Ward, Wade Rollins, Nick Kuzma, Matt Bollinger, Andy LeBrun and Max Matthai.
Lebrun also dished out two assists and Kuzma had one.
Brady Sipes of Century was the only player to have multiple goals, scoring twice to lead the Knights. Jordan Fetterman and Mike Capparelli also netted goals for Century. Sipes, Fetterman and Camden Belinko each had assists.
CMW goalie Matt Corn earned the win with six saves, while Century goalie Christian Koch had 12 saves.
CMW led at the half, 4-1.
Cougars beat Warriors
Fallston (3-0/5-5) had no trouble with visiting Havre de Grace Friday night, winning the UCBAC Chesapeake Division game, 15-1. The Cougars led 6-1 at the half.
Greg Horsham paced the Cougars scoring with four goals, while Zach Wheeler and Kyle D'Onofrio each scored three to close out the multiple goal scorers. D'Onofrio had two assists, while James Glezen, Travis Greene, Horsham, Jason Lawrence and Keegan Teluk had single assists.
Keenan Villareal tallied the lone Havre de Grace (1-3/7-3) goal with assist from Nick Burley.
Mark Wollenweber (three saves) and Caleb Abney (two saves) both saw time in the Fallston goal, while Brian Cameron made 18 saves in the Havre de Grace nets.
Bel Air wins
Bel Air (5-3) picked up a non-league win Friday night, beating visiting North Carroll, 15-9. No further information was available.Copyright © 2014, The Baltimore Sun
