Joppatowne and host Aberdeen needed overtime Wednesday to settle a 9-8 Joppatowne win in Susquehanna play. Joppatowne's Austin Kocsan had five goals, including the game-winning goal in OT to give the Mariners (1-2/1-7) their first win.

Blaise Curtis, Kyle Peters and Kevin Shumaker each scored two goals to lead the Eagles (1-2/2-5). Brendon Snead added a goal and assist and Jon Jones also scored a goal. Shumaker also had an assist.

Patriots split a pair

John Carroll split two games over the past week, losing to visiting Saints Peter and Paul, 13-11, last Friday, but bouncing back to beat Archbishop Curley 15-10 on Tuesday.

In the loss, the Patriots (4-2/5-2) found themselves in penalty trouble which put them a man and two men down for much of the game. Kevin Gambrell scored three goals in the loss, while Sully Gerety and Dominic Mezzanotte (one assist) scored two goals each. Jake Brown, Clarke Grube, Eric McIntyre and Carson Walton each had single goals.

In the goal, Alex Gambrell made five saves and Jack Miller came on to make six saves.

In the win, John Carroll got three goals from Gerety (one assist), Walton and Eric Riley. Mezzanotte added two goals and one assist, while Jack Hinder, Brown, Nick Druelinger and Mike Thompson each scored one goal. Cody Sanders and Kevin Gambrell also had assists.

Alex Gambrell (eight saves) and Miller (six saves) split time in the Patriots goal. Luke Steibe, Hinder, Ethan McMillan and Jake Filling were credited and recognized for great defense by coach Keith Hinder.
