An impressive class at St. Joan

St. Joan of Arc Catholic School in Aberdeen just graduated one of its largest classes in recent memory.

Thirty-two young men and woman walked across the stage Thursday, June 2. That by itself isn't even the impressive part. Of these 32 students, 12 have been accepted into The John Carroll School and many of them accepted into honors and AP courses. That is nearly half the class.

Two of the five academic scholarships awarded by The John Carroll School were awarded to members in this graduating class. Not impressed? Calvert Hall has two of our students attending in the fall. One of them will be in their honors program and he received a substantial scholarship. Two young ladies are attending Mercy and Notre Dame Prep. One received a half scholarship. Harford County magnet programs are also receiving many of our students. The Science and Math Academy accepted four; the IB program accepted at least two. Harford Tech's nursing program has five of our students in their class of only 20 next year. One student was offered a place in their CAD program.

I don't know about anyone else, but that impresses me.
