Among the festivities is the annual Harford County Farm Fair in July, which has generated nearly $1 million for capital improvements to the Harford County Equestrian Center over the years. Another summertime favorite is the annual Havre de Grace parade and fireworks in July, with a concert in Tydings Park facilitated by hundreds of volunteers.
There are dedicated organizations in the county whose mission is to make the arts accessible to the community. Each year, the Harford County Cultural Arts Board oversees issuance of grant money to more than 40 arts and cultural groups through its Community Arts Development, Opportunity and Challenge Grant Programs. The Bel Air Cultural Arts Commission serves as an advisory commission to the town government on celebration and promotion of cultural arts in the town.
The Center for the Arts of Harford County provides arts education and appreciation opportunities to all segments of the community from amateurs, cultural enthusiasts and hobbyists to aspiring professionals and students pursuing careers in the arts. The center provides professional training, arts events and continuing arts and humanities education in the form of group classes and individual instruction for students ranging from young children to senior citizens.
