Upper Chesapeake Health (UCH) is a community-based, not-for-profit health system serving Harford County and surrounding areas. It owns and operates two acute care hospitals: Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace and Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air. UCH also operates the Upper Chesapeake Health Foundation in Bel Air; the Ambulatory Care Center and two medical office buildings on the Upper Chesapeake Medical Center campus; the Senator Bob Hooper House, which provides hospice care and support to patients and their families in Forest Hill; and Upper Chesapeake Medical Services, which includes eight physician practices.
UCH partnered with the University of Maryland Medical System in 2009. It is the leading health care system and largest private employer in Harford County with more than 3,000 team members and more than 600 medical staff physicians.
Harford Memorial Hospital in historic Havre de Grace has served the Harford County community for more than 100 years. Today, the newly renovated hospital offers a range of medical, diagnostic and emergency care services. The hospital has a state-of-the-art intensive care unit and an emergency department. Specialized services include bariatric surgery, anticoagulation management, wound care, outpatient behavioral health and sleep disorder programs.
Upper Chesapeake Medical Center opened in 2000 and offers surgical specialties and interventional cardiovascular services, as well as obstetrics, pediatric, diabetes and endocrine care. In 2008, the medical center expanded with an emergency department area dedicated to pediatric patients, a new parking garage and physician office pavilion.
