This is going to be the hardest columns I have written to date. It has always been exciting to report on all the fun activities, birthdays, anniversary and stories supplied by my readers for your reading pleasure.

Today I write in loving remembrance of my sister-in-law, Joann Wilson, who passed away Sunday, May 5. Joann was the third child of Herbert and Mary Lou Southall and middle sister of my husband, Roger A. Southall Sr., and Janet Southall, Shirley Morse and Linda Southall-Barton. Aside from her parents, brother and sisters, she is survived by her daughter, Casey Wilson, two sons, Jason, Jeromy and Joshua Wilson, and four grandchildren, Jason Jr., Jaden, Jaxson and Kennedi.

Upon graduation from Havre de Grace High School in 1973, Joann enrolled at Bauder Fashion College in Miami, Fla. She fell in love with the warm sun and sandy white beaches of Florida and called Hollywood, Fla., her home until her passing. Her family in Maryland missed Joann very much but she came home at least once a year to visit with her family and catch up with old friends.

Funny story: we would go to the airport to pick her up while the family members at home were preparing a crab feast for Joann. She loved Maryland steamed crabs with lots of Old Bay. Family members in Maryland would visit Florida when they could to enjoy some fun in the sun. I remember Roger's and my first trip to see Joann. It was May of 1978 and we drove to Florida with five-month-old Ruthie. Aunt Jo Jo was so excited to see us and our new little addition.
