Grove Cemetery vandalism

Aberdeen police have arrested three people, two of whom are juveniles, in connection with the ongoing vandalism at Grove Presbyterian Cemetery.

The suspects are accused of overturning or damaging about 126 tombstones, causing about $20,000 damage at the cemetery at 50 East Bel Air Avenue, according to an Aberdeen Police Department news release.

The adult arrested was identified as Robert Joseph Farrington, 19, of the first block of Green Avenue in Aberdeen.

Farrington was arrested Tuesday and charged with malicious destruction of property of more than $500, and defacing religious property.

Two juveniles have also been charged, according to the news release.

Some of the headstones will require professional restoration, police said.
