A 29-year-old Essex man was arrested last week on charges of sexually abusing a child.
The man was picked up April 4 on a warrant charging instances of abuse since June 2008; the warrant charges him with third-degree sex offense, sexual abuse of a minor and second-degree assault, according to electronic court records. He was released April 5 on a $350,000 corporate bond.
The Aegis is withholding the name and address of the man charged to ensure the alleged victim in these charges is not identified.
He is charged with abusing an 11-year-old girl, who was when the alleged abuse began, according to charging documents. The man also allegedly admitted "inappropriate sexual conduct" in a pre-polygraph interview, he told police, because he was trying to get security clearance at his job and had failed five previous polygraph tests. He also told police he wanted to get help.
The events occurred in Harford County, according to the charging documents.
