An Aberdeen man is in critical condition after being hit by a car on South Philadelphia Boulevard (Route 40) Friday night.
Hank W. Smith, 52, was flown to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore after he was hit by a car while trying to cross the divided highway near the intersection of James Avenue about 10:29 p.m. Friday, Lt. Fred Budnick of the Aberdeen Police said Tuesday.
Smith was hit by a 2001 Honda driven by Matthew Coffee, of the 400 block of Devonshire Court in Aberdeen, who was traveling west on South Philadelphia Boulevard.
Smith, who lives in the 100 block of South Philadelphia Boulevard, suffered a head and leg injury. Budnick said Smith was still in critical condition Tuesday at the hospital.
The investigation is ongoing, Budnick said.
